My mission is to normalize mental health care, promote living over surviving, and provide high-quality therapy for humans who want help humaning.
Meet Kelsey Kuehn
Hi — I’m really glad you’re here.
I turn the TV off when Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel” comes on during animal rescue clips because my sensitive heart just can’t handle it. I’m a recovering perfectionist and a former “good kid” — responsible, level-headed, the one everyone could count on. I binge too much reality TV and enjoy McDonald’s more than I’d like to admit. Basically, I’m a human just like you.
I get complex family dynamics, overthinking until you’re exhausted, and what it’s like to be highly sensitive. I’ve done a lot of work to understand my own system so I can help you understand yours. If you want to deepen your self-awareness, enrich your relationships, and shift ingrained ways of thinking to get unstuck, you’re in the right place.
Together we’ll explore the familiar and the not-so-familiar parts of you, moving toward self-compassion instead of self-criticism. We’ll work collaboratively, and I’ll tailor sessions to fit your specific needs. There’s a rich inner world waiting to be explored and I’d be honored to guide you there.
My last name, Kuehn, is pronounced KEEN.
This is where Keen Counseling gets its name.
Keen: having or showing great perception or insight.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I studied Psychology and Social Work at Elmhurst University, and received my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Concordia University Chicago.
